As the final line of defense for a major insurance company's business data protection, the existing disaster recovery and backup platform, operating on a traditional disk array for many years, faces several critical challenges. The current setup falls short of meeting the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) requirements for disaster recovery. The system grapples with aging backup equipment, limited storage space for backups, insufficient features in the backup system, and a flawed automated operation and maintenance capability. To align with future financial governance requirements and evolving business needs, there is a pressing need for a data storage solution that addresses backup storage space expansion and technological improvements.
Following an extensive Proof of Concept (POC) phase within the company's three-tier data center, AccelStor's NeoSapphire all-flash array emerged as the optimal choice, becoming the primary backup storage solution. With an actual usable physical capacity of 116 TB, the NeoSapphire all-flash array fully satisfies the current business demand for storage capacity. Additionally, to cater to future needs, the NeoSapphire all-flash array supports online capacity expansion. This entails attaching an external expansion cabinet to the storage system, enabling rapid upgrades without causing any downtime in the production environment.
